The russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put out a search warrant for the Ukrainian singer Jamala (Susana Jamaladinova) of Crimean Tatar origin. The information was discovered by Mediazona in the database of the ministry.

According to Mediazona, Jamala was declared wanted in mid-October 2023. She is accused of "spreading fake information about the russian army" (part 1 of Article 207.3 of the russian Criminal Code). In November, Jamala was sentenced to a remote arrest by a russian court.

In 2016, representing Ukraine, Jamala won the Eurovision Song Contest with a song about the Stalinist deportation of Crimean Tatars. The singer consistently condemns the russian annexation of Crimea.

In April 2022, russian media reported that Jamala had been banned from entering russia for 50 years.
