The vast majority of Ukrainians consider territorial concessions in exchange for ending the war unacceptable. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Democratic Initiatives foundation and the sociological service of the Razumkov Centre, as reported by the BBC russian service.
"The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians continue to demonstrate their unwillingness to compromise with the aggressor for the sake of ending the war. Less than 5% of Ukrainians are willing to make territorial concessions for the sake of ending the war. A slightly larger percentage, 18% of Ukrainians, are willing to compromise on Ukraine's future membership in NATO", - the study states.
The majority of respondents find the demand to grant official/state status to the russian language in Ukraine (75%) and the rejection of decommunization policies (69%) unacceptable.
"The full-scale war and the increasing value of the state in the eyes of citizens have led to a reevaluation of life in independent Ukraine. The number of those who believe that there have been more positive events during the years of independence has significantly increased", - the sociologists write.
The survey was conducted from August 9 to 15, with a total of 2019 respondents aged 18 and above. The sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
