Ukrainian Air Force has accepted the West's conditions not to strike into russia from F-16s

Ukraine will not carry out strikes deep into russia from F-16 fighters, but their deployment will help repel russian ships in the Black Sea and enemy aircraft on the front lines, said Yurii Ihnat, the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a comment to LIGA.net.

"The F-16 is capable of defending Ukraine against missile terror, pushing russian ships and aircraft far away, gaining an advantage in the air", - Ihnat emphasized.

He assured that Ukraine will fulfill the wishes of Western governments and will not carry out strikes from aircraft into russia.

"Ukraine steadfastly adheres to this commitment regarding all the weaponry received from our partners", - he reminded.

"For every category of weaponry we receive, we take on the commitment not to strike the territory of russia. We acquire weapons for defense against aggression. And we keep our word", - emphasized the representative of the Air Force.

Ihnat noted that the F-16 is a multi-role aircraft capable of engaging not only airborne targets but also ground and maritime targets. The question lies in determining the type of weaponry to be mounted under the wings.

As reported, Zelensky announced a "breakthrough agreement" on the F-16s. The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with 42 F-16 aircraft.
