Dmytro Kuleba, the Head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has stated that Ukraine is ready to start negotiations with russia, but through a mediator and after the withdrawal of its troops. He made this statement in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, as reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty on August 10th.
"In the event of the withdrawal of russian forces, Ukraine must be assured that it's not a deception intended to return and strike again". - Kuleba said.
He emphasized that a direct dialogue between putin and Zelensky is not possible and that third-party mediation could be an option during negotiations.
It was previously reported that the meeting in Jeddah marked a step toward the practical implementation of peace initiatives proposed by Ukraine.
