Russian occupiers were unprepared for the consequences of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam blowing up and have incurred losses. This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a briefing on June 8th.

"The occupiers were not prepared for the consequences of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam destruction and have incurred losses in personnel, weapons, and military equipment. In particular, there are casualties, injuries, and missing personnel in the 7th Airborne Assault Division and the 22nd Army Corps of the russian federation", - stated Ukrainian military officials.

It is noted that these units have also lost several field depots containing ammunition and supplies, as well as vehicles, armored vehicles, and other military assets.

In addition, the General Staff highlighted that on June 6th, there was a mass evacuation of civilians in the city of Kakhovka. During this evacuation, the local population used their own vehicles.

"Together with the civilian population, russian occupiers used the evacuation routes. During such movements, the invaders used local residents as human shields", - the message stated.

Previously it was reported that the occupiers had blocked the exit from the Kozachi Laheri in the Kherson oblast, and they were establishing positions on rooftops in Hola Prystan.
