Currently, an area of 600 square kilometers in the Kherson oblast is underwater, with 68% of it being the left bank, according to the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration (OMA), Oleksandr Prokudin, who shared this information on Telegram on the morning of June 8th.

"Despite the tremendous danger and constant russian shelling, the evacuation from the flooded area continues", - said the official.

As of 6 a.m., 1999 civilians have left the affected areas. The largest number of people were evacuated from the Korabel microdistrict, totaling 1495.

It is reported that 600 square kilometers of the Kherson oblast are submerged, with 32% being the right bank and 68% the left bank. The average water level is 5.61 meters.

"People are tired but provided for and fed. They have no desire to leave for other oblasts", - added Prokudin.

The head of the OMA reminded people to call the OMA hotline and rescue services for evacuation assistance.

As previously reported, as a result of the blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, the water has cut off the Kinburn Spit from the mainland.
