Drinking water is available and will continue to be available in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv oblasts. The situation in these regions is stable, - said Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, in a Telegram message on the evening of June 6th.
He noted that the elimination of the consequences of the russian terrorist act at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant is ongoing.
"Rescue and emergency works are being carried out. The State Emergency Service, medical personnel, law enforcement agencies, regional and local authorities are working on-site. I am also grateful to volunteers and concerned Ukrainians who are helping to overcome the consequences", - emphasized Kuleba.
According to him, the most difficult situation is in the Korabelny district of Kherson. As of the evening of June 6th, the water level has risen by 3.5 meters. Over 1,000 houses have been flooded.
"1,500 people have been evacuated, with special attention paid to children and people with limited mobility. Assistance is also being provided in rescuing animals. Evacuation will continue tomorrow and in the coming days, using buses and trains. The local and regional authorities promptly inform about the departure times. Evacuation points are equipped with food kits and drinking water. Social services are operating. It is important that all people living in the territory controlled by Ukraine are provided with drinking water and supplies. Accommodation is provided for those in need. Financial assistance is also provided for the affected individuals", - Kuleba reported.
He emphasized that, for the safety of people in the region, electricity and gas supply have been partially disconnected.
"From all regions of the country, boats, vessels, heavy machinery, buses, water purification stations, and other equipment are being sent to the Kherson oblast to eliminate the consequences and provide assistance to people. Only together, side by side, can we overcome all challenges and stand up against the enemy", - the Deputy Head of the Office of the President noted.
At the same time, he stated that a critical situation has developed on the occupied left bank of the Kherson oblast.
"The occupiers are not providing assistance to the people. Residents are sitting on the roofs of their houses and waiting to be rescued. The occupiers are not organizing evacuations, and people are left alone with the catastrophe. This is a russian crime against people, nature, and life itself", - Kuleba pointed out.
