In their Telegram channel, the Freedom of Russia Legion published a video statement declaring their return to russian territory to "put an end to the dictatorship of the kremlin".

"Russian citizens! We are just like you, fellow Russians. The only difference is that we no longer wanted to justify the actions of criminals in power, so we took up arms to defend our freedom and yours. But today, the time has come for everyone to take responsibility for their own future. It is time to put an end to the dictatorship of the Kremlin: the Legion is coming home. For Russia! For Freedom!", - states the video address.

The Legion also called on residents of the border regions of russia to "stay at home, not resist, and not be afraid".

"We are not your enemies. Unlike the Putin zombies, we do not harm civilians or use them for our own purposes. Freedom is within reach!", - the message from the Legion states in their Telegram channel.

Simultaneously, russian sources report the destruction of a border checkpoint in the Belgorod oblast. Dozens of russian military personnel are reported to have been killed or wounded.
