"According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 482 children have died, and over 978 have sustained injuries of varying degrees", - the statement says.

It is noted that these figures are not final. Work is ongoing to establish them in areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

The highest number of children affected is in the Donetsk oblast - 459, Kharkiv oblast - 277, Kyiv oblast - 128, Kherson oblast - 102, Zaporizhzhia oblast - 90, Mykolaiv oblast - 89, Chernihiv oblast - 70, Dnipropetrovsk oblast - 70, Luhansk oblast - 66.

It is mentioned that on May 17, as a result of enemy shelling of the city of Kherson and the village of Zelenivka in the Kherson oblast, a 5-year-old boy was killed, and a 16-year-old teenager was injured.

As reported, on May 17, the body of a child who died during the occupation was exhumed in Tetianivka, Donetsk oblast.
