The Supreme Court of Ukraine is convening an extraordinary session following the detention of its chairman

The Supreme Court of Ukraine announced the extraordinary session of its plenum on Tuesday. The Supreme Court shared this information on Facebook.

"Due to the events surrounding Chairman Kniazev of the Supreme Court, an extraordinary session of the Supreme Court's plenum will take place on May 16, 2023", - the message states.

The exact time of the session will be announced separately, the Supreme Court added.

Earlier it was reported that on May 15, the Chairman of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Kniazev, was detained by the law enforcement agencies of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and a scheme involving the illicit benefits obtained by the leadership and judges of the Supreme Court was exposed.
