Ukraine returned 130 defenders from russian captivity (PHOTO)

On Easter, Ukraine was able to conduct another prisoner exchange and returned 130 defenders home. The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, announced this on Telegram on April 16.

"A big Easter prisoner exchange happened. We are returning 130 of our people. The exchange took place over the past few days in several stages", - he said.

According to Yermak, military personnel, border guards, National Guard members, sailors and employees of the State Special Transport Service were brought home.

"Those are privates and sergeants who were taken prisoner on the Bakhmut, Soledar, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions", - added the head of the President's Office.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War clarified that a total of 92 servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 20 members of territorial defense forces, 11 National Guard soldiers, three border guards, and two representatives each from the Naval Forces and the State Special Transport Service have returned home. It is separately noted that 48 soldiers who returned home were considered missing in action.

Unfortunately, some of the released Ukrainians have multiple injuries - lost limbs, numerous concussions and other wounds.

"The oldest released defender was 58 years old, while the youngest was only 21. Notably, two brothers who fought in the Bakhmut area were also released from captivity", - the statement said.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine had returned 100 POW, including defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal and Hostomel.
