Ukraine and Poland have agreed on a new military aid package for Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki on April 5, UNIAN reports.

"It has been agreed on a new, very important for our soldiers defense package, that protects the freedom and independence not only of Ukraine, but also of Poland, Europe and the whole world. It is very important that those who are currently in the trenches in the east, where it is hot, in the south of Ukraine, know that here, in Warsaw, we have agreed on something that will give Ukraine and each and every one of our soldiers more strength. We really need this strength now", - the president said.

Zelensky emphasized that it is not only about support, but also about cooperation, including in the form of purchases.

"It strengthens the defense potential of both Ukraine and Poland. Today we are signing a document on the supply of Polish Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Rak self-propelled mortars, air defense systems, in particular ‘very effective’ as the Prime Minister said, and it is true, as well as Pioruns, MiGs and other necessary weapons. We discussed the creation of joint enterprises for the production of weapons and ammunition", - Zelensky said.

President Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki signed a protocol on the supply of defense equipment to Ukraine. This was also reported by the Office of the Polish Prime Minister.

"Prime Minister Morawiecki and Ukrainian President Zelensky signed a protocol of intent on cooperation in the supply of defense equipment", - the statement said.

In particular, it concerned Rosomak armored personnel carriers.

As reported earliers, Poland has already transferred eight MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine and is preparing six more fighters for transfer.
