The Commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, visited the hottest spots of the Bakhmut direction once again. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In the immediate area of the Ukrainian defenders' combat missions, Colonel-General Syrsky assessed the situation and took a number of measures to solve problematic issues that hindered the effective execution of combat tasks. The commander also made a number of operational decisions aimed at strengthening our capabilities to deter and inflict damage on the enemy, according to the statement.

"The most intense phase of fighting for Bakhmut continues. The situation is consistently difficult. The enemy incurs significant losses in human resources, weapons and military equipment, but continues to carry out offensive actions. Our defenders heroically withstand the enemy invasion in the most difficult conditions and do not give the enemy any chances to implement theirs", - Syrsky noted.

He emphasized that the defense of Bakhmut is "justified by military necessity and based on the intelligent use of the city's defensive capabilities, fortifications and equipped firing positions".

"The courage and heroism of our soldiers, combined with the skilled use of weapons, the application of maneuvers by forces and means, allowed the defense of the city to be conducted beyond all maximum terms and forecasts. We are considering all possible scenarios for the development of events, and we will act accordingly to the current situation", - Syrsky said.

As reported earlier, the russians are terrified of the possible attack by 50,000 Ukrainian drones.
