Russian occupiers have effectively resumed operations at the seaport in seized Mariupol. This was reported on March 23 in Telegram by the advisor to the city mayor, Petro Andryushchenko.

"Yet another delivery of 'dual-purpose' cargo has passed through the port of Mariupol. De facto, the port has resumed operations. The first vessels have passed through. Containers are being imported by the russians", - he wrote.

According to Petro Andryushchenko, at present, the port can theoretically accept vessels with a displacement of up to 20,000 tons. Any satellite images of the port "would reveal a lot of interesting details", he added.

"If military cargo is transported, it will be much faster and cheaper than by trucks", - the Mariupol mayor's advisor noted.

The vessel itself was identified as it was leaving the port. It is a "non-self-propelled floating barracks" called Kalevala. It is designed to accommodate 400 people (plus a crew of up to 40).
