Three largest mines in the occupied part of the Donetsk oblast have ceased to operate. This fact was acknowledged by the so-called "Ministry of Coal and Energy of the DNR".

The enterprises in question are: Chelyuskintsiv mine, Skochynsky mine and Zasyadko mine.

The puppet authorities are attempting to shift responsibility for the shutdown of these enterprises, which were the flagship of the coal mining industry in the region prior to the russian occupation, onto the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

They claim that these mines "are not producing coal because they were repeatedly shelled and have sustained significant damage".

Earlier, Georgy Yankov, who calls himself the chairman of the "Makiivka Trade Union Committee for Workers of the Coal Industry of the DNR", stated that the true reason for the closure of the mines is the lack of funds.

According to him, in addition to the aforementioned mines, the Kalynivska-Skhidna mine will also cease operations.

"They are very necessary for the production of coke. There is no such coal in Russia. There are no investors so far, and the question of transitioning them to a water drainage mode is being considered", - Yankov said.
