Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, said that the warrant for the arrest of russian dictator vladimir putin issued in The Hague is for life. He stated this on the air of BBC Radio 4, Liga.News reports.

"People, wherever they are, should understand that there is a law and that with power comes responsibility. There is no statute of limitations for war crimes", - he said.

Khan clarified that the arrest warrant can be revoked only if putin appears in court and the judges close the case.

It was reported earlier that the European Union supported the decision of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant against russian dictator putin.
