Rada renamed settlements in occupied Donbass. Torez - Chistyakov, Krasnodon – Sorokino

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution to rename separate towns and districts on the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (№4086). 245 MPs out of 361 registered in the session hall voted for the decision, - reportsUNIAN.

The resolution notes that the renaming of settlements and districts is conducted in accordance with Paragraph 29 of Part one of Article 85 of the Constitution, Paragraph 8 of Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On the condemnation of the communist and national and socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and prohibition of propaganda of their symbols" taking into account the recommendations of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.

We are talking about renaming of 34 towns, 27 villages and 12 cities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In Donetsk region Yunokomunarivsk of Yenakiyevo City Council was renamed into Bunge; Kirovskoye - Krestovka; Komsomolsk Starobeshevs district - Kalmiusskoe; Torez - Chistyakov.

In Luhansk region Kirovsk was renamed into Golubovka; ​​Krasnyi Luch – Khrustalnyi; ​​Vakhrushevo of Krasnyi Luch City Council – Bokovo-Khustalnoye; Petrovskoye of Krasnyi Luch City Council – Petrovo-Krasnoselye; Krasnodon - Sorokino; Artemovsk Perevalsk district - Kipucheye; Sverdlovsk - Dolzhansk; Stakhanov - Kadiyevka.

This decision shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication.
