UN adopts resolution demanding russia to end war in Ukraine

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning the russian invasion of Ukraine and demanding an end to the war in the country.

The document is called "Principles of the Charter of the United Nations that underline the comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine" and consists of 11 points.

The text of the resolution reaffirms its commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and reiterates the demand for the russian federation to "immediately, completely and unconditionally" withdraw all its armed forces from Ukrainian territory and cease hostilities.

141 countries supported the resolution, 7 voted against and 32 abstained. Among those who are against: russia, Belarus, Syria, Mali, Nicaragua, Eritrea and North Korea.

As previously reported, the UN stated that russia was deliberately erasing Ukrainian culture, history and language in order to destroy the identity of Ukrainians.
