Biden on transfer of tanks to Ukraine: I announce that we are providing 31 Abrams

The USA will give Ukraine 31 M1 Abrams tanks. This was announced by U.S. President Joe Biden on January 25 in a statement on assistance to Ukraine.

"We intend to help Ukraine defend its territory and go on the counteroffensive. In order to liberate the country, they need to increase their defense capabilities... Today, we are contributing more than 500 armored vehicles, and I also announce that we are contributing 31 Abrams tanks", - he stated.

According to him, Abrams tanks are very difficult to manage and operate, so it is necessary to train personnel and provide logistics.

"We will teach the Ukrainian military this and will start doing it as soon as possible. It will take time to put tanks on the battlefield and efforts must be made so that the Ukrainian military is ready for their operation", - Biden noted.
