Russian "Wagnerites" launch powerful assault on Soledar - Deputy Defense Minister

In the Donetsk oblast, after an unsuccessful attempt to capture Soledar and retreat, the enemy regrouped, resumed losses, deployed additional assault detachments, changed tactics and launched a powerful assault. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar in the Telegram channel on the evening of January 9.

"Currently, the enemy has deployed a large number of assault groups formed from the best reserves of the Wagnerites. The enemy is advancing literally over the corpses of their own soldiers, massively using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and mortars, covering even their own fighters with fire", - Maliar reported.

"Our defenders courageously defend every meter of their native land. Fierce battles continue right now", - the deputy minister added.
