The probable attack of the russians on Kyiv in the winter of 2023 will not be successful. This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

"Russia may create conditions for a new offensive against Ukraine, possibly against Kyiv, in the winter of 2023. It is unlikely that such an offensive will be successful", - the message says.

The ISW notes that a russian attack from Belarus is currently not imminent.

Moreover, according to estimates by Ukrainian officials and the ISW based on statements and actions by the kremlin, russian president vladimir putin's goals in Ukraine have not changed.

"A combination of ongoing efforts to train both mobilized recruits and fall 2022 conscripts, and signs that russia is preparing for another wave of "partial" mobilization, indicate that russia is trying to build combat capability to resume the offensive in the early months of 2023", - analysts note.

As previously reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi stated that the russians were preparing about 200 thousand new soldiers who would again turn their arms against Kyiv.
