Rocket strikes on Ukraine: about 20 million people left without power supply

Due to кussian missile strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities, more than 7 million subscribers (about 20 million people) were left without power supply. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko, - the Office of the President reports.

"Today, the enemy fired more than 90 missiles across Ukraine. More than 70 were shot down by air defense forces, and thanks to our Armed Forces for this. But still there were hits. 15 energy facilities in different oblasts were damaged", - Tymoshenko told.

According to him, as a result of a massive air attack, power is being cut off in the city of Kyiv, the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv oblasts.

"In total, more than 7 million subscribers are now disconnected, which is about 20 million people. But our power engineers, together with the State Emergency Service, are doing everything to connect power supply where we can do it as soon as possible", - Tymoshenko noted.

He told that after receiving updated information on the nature and extent of damage to power facilities, it will be possible to predict the approximate timing of the resumption of electricity supply in a particular region.

"Also there is a dead person in Kyiv, as a result of hitting a residential building", - Tymoshenko confirmed.
