Occupation court in Crimea recognized Majlis to be extremist and banned its activities

The Supreme Court of annexed Crimea recognized Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people public association to be extremist organization and banned its activities in Russia, - reports RIA Novosti.

It is noted that the decision may be appealed within a month. The lawsuit to ban the Mejlis was submitted to the court by "Crimean prosecutor" Natalia Poklonskaya. She said that the organization was set solely at anti-Russian activities and its leaders Refat Chubarov and Mustafa Dzemilev "are puppets in the hands of large Western puppeteers and use Crimean Tatar people as a bargaining chip."

According to the Russian Prosecutor's Office, Mejlis leaders cooperate with the mercenaries of terrorist organizations, such as the Turkish Grey Wolves and Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami.
