Ukraine has prepared a draft law providing for criminal liability for obtaining a russian passport in the occupation and calls for it. This was reported on the website of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine on September 14.
"With the participation of specialists from the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Reintegration, human rights activists and people's deputies – a draft law introducing criminal liability has been prepared", - the report says.
It is specified that the grounds for this may be:
- Acquisition of citizenship and/or obtaining a passport of the aggressor state by state officials or representatives of local government in the absence of signs of treason;
- propaganda, public appeals and coercion to this;
restriction of the rights of people who have not received citizenship or passports of the aggressor state.
It is emphasized that obtaining a russian passport in the occupation is justified only in cases where it is impossible to return to the controlled territory of Ukraine without it.
"The enemy passportization and pressure to impose a passport of the russian federation are absolutely unlawful and illegal", - the message says.
It was earlier reported that the Verkhovna Rada wanted to decolonize and de-occupy Ukrainian culture.
