OSCE police forces in the conflict zone in Donbass are the issue of the organization and authorities of the self-proclaimed republics. It was stated by Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, - informs Interfax-Ukraine.
"The issue of some police forces has to be agreed in the OSCE without which it is hardly possible to raise this question," - said D.Peskov to reporters on Monday.
"But the main thing, of course, it is impossible to do it without opinion, without direct dialogue with those republics, on the territory of which it (police mission -Ed.) will be located", - said the press secretary of the head of state. (What "republics" Peskov talked about is not clear, since Russia recognized de jure "DPR/LPR" and has repeatedly expressed support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine - OstroV)
However, D.Peskov noted that "would not go into details (on the issue)." "There are a lot of different aspects that should be taken into consideration before you agree on some modalities," - said the President's press secretary.
As previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the support for the OSCE armed police mission in Donbass during the "straight line" on April 17th. "Recently there was a conversation with Petr Alekseyevich and he proposed to strengthen the presence of the OSCE, including the OSCE staff members to be armed on the demarcation line. It is a right decision. We support," – said Russian President.
All speculation about the fact Putin allegedly proposed to arm the present mission in Donbass aew untenable, as the OSCE has repeatedly stated that "the special monitoring mission of the OSCE in Ukraine (SMM) is an unarmed civilian mission, one of the many missions of the OSCE."
On April 25th leader of the militants of the "DPR" Alexander Zakharchenko said that he would consider the police peacekeeping mission of the OSCE as "intervention".
