Ukrainian successes on the Kharkiv-Izium line create cracks in the russian information space and undermine the credibility of the russian command. This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
"Ukrainian successes on the Kharkiv-Izium line are creating cracks in the russian information space and undermining the credibility of the russian command to an extent that was not observed after the failed river crossing in mid-May", - the report says.
It is noted that on September 8, during the counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces in the Kharkiv oblast advanced within 20 kilometers from the key russian logistics hub in Kupiansk.
"Ukrainian forces are likely to capture Kupiansk within the next 72 hours, seriously degrading, but not completely cutting off, russian land lines to Izium", - the ISW predicts.
It is also reported that the relatively high speed of the advance of the Ukrainian forces and their proximity to Kupiansk are causing panic in the russian rear.
As previously reported, the AFU were conducting a successful counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction and had advanced almost 50 km over the past three days.
