Truss accepts Zelensky's invitation to visit Ukraine

A British government spokeswoman stated that the country's new prime minister Liz Truss had accepted an invitation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit Ukraine, - BBC.NEWS writes.

"In her first phone call to the foreign leader since taking office as prime minister, [Truss] reaffirmed her full support for the Ukrainian leader and stated that Ukraine could count on long-term British assistance", - the Downing Street spokeswoman said.

According to her, the two leaders "discussed the need to bolster international security and the measures needed to cut off the flow of funds funding putin's war machine".

As OstroV reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky became the first foreign leader to have a conversation with new head of the British government Liz Truss and invite her to Ukraine.
