The russian invaders provoked the complete shutdown of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant from the power grid. Mayor of Enerhodar, occupied by rashists, Dmytro Orlov reports this in Telegram.

"Today, on August 25, 2022, due to fires at the ash dumps of the Zaporizhzhia TPP, located next to the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the last (fourth) communication line of the ZNPP with the energy system of Ukraine -the 750 kV overhead line of the ZNPP - Dniprovska, was disconnected twice. Three other lines were damaged earlier during russian shelling. As a result, two operating power units of the station were disconnected from the network. Thus, the actions of the invaders led to the complete disconnection of the Zaporizhzhia NPP from the power grid - the first one in the history of the station", - Orlov reports.

He noted that the NPP's own needs for power supply are provided from the energy system of Ukraine through the ZNPP communication line - Zaporizhzhia TPP.

"There are no comments on the operation of automation and security systems. Start-up operations are underway to connect one of the power units to the network", - Orlov added.

As reported, the russian plan to disconnect the Zaporizhzhia NPP from the Ukrainian energy system will increase the risk of a catastrophic failure.
