President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that there could be no negotiations with russia yet, because it was a trap. He said this during a press conference following the Crimean Platform summit on August 23.

In particular, he answered the question whether it is possible to end the war before winter.

"As for the end of the war. My main message is very simple. We understood the hints and signals that we need to move on to the issues of the end… and start talking with the russian federation. In the city where we are now, the mode of ending the war is "not ready" on our part", - the head of state said.

"We explained that there will be no Minsk-3, Minsk-5, or Minsk-7. We will not play these games, we have lost part of our territories this way. And everyone understands this very well, everyone heard this from us. Because this is a trap, we understand it. There will be a "stop" - we will be left without the south of our state, then there will be some conditions, it will last for several years. And we will have nothing, no way out to the sea, nothing", - Zelensky explained.

"After that, they (the russians, - ed.) will turn around in a year and go to Mykolaiv and Odesa. We understand what is happening. And then they will want to return again, for example, to our capital. Therefore, to stabilize the situation where the troops are now, just to reassure the russian federation - the state of Ukraine will not deal with this. Therefore, we want… a lot before winter", - the President of Ukraine noted.

As OstroV reported, following the results of the Crimean Platform summit, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the russian federation could forget about diplomacy if a trial of Ukrainian prisoners of war takes place in Mariupol.
