The russian military are taking their families out of Melitopol, occupied by the russian army. This was stated by mayor of the city Ivan Fedorov during the telethon on August 15, - BBC reports.

"After the guerilla warriors and the AFU have actively worked for another week, the russian military is taking their families out of the city", - he stated.

At the same time, Fedorov noted that russian troops are actively moving from Kherson to Melitopol.

On Sunday, Kherson authorities reported that most of the representatives of the russian military command had left the city.

First deputy head of the oblast council Yuri Sobolevsky stated that Ukrainian artillery had destroyed bridges across the Dnipro River in the Kherson oblast and that all main roads were under the AFU fire control.

"Apparently, this was the main reason that the military command left Kherson", - he said, speaking on the air of the telethon.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian military stated that they had again struck at the Antonivka Road Bridge in Kherson. Sobolevsky claims that now this bridge cannot be crossed even on foot.

The fact that the russian commanders are leaving Kherson was also mentioned on Saturday by head of the Mykolaiv military administration Vitaliy Kim. According to him, the russian command is moving "beyond the Dnipro River".
