German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the personal responsibility of russian president putin for the war in Ukraine at a press conference in Berlin. This is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the dpa agency.
Scholz condemned the alleged war crimes committed by russia, but did not answer the question whether the russian president was responsible for them and should be brought to justice.
According to Scholz, it is not ordinary russians who are responsible for the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, but the leadership of the country. He spoke this when answering a question about the proposal to stop issuing visas to citizens of the russian federation.
"If sanctions were directed against everyone, including the innocent - that would weaken their effectiveness", - he said. According to him, it is difficult for him to imagine the termination of the issuance of visas to russian citizens.
According to Scholz, the European Union intends to continue sanctions pressure on russia, and Germany will continue to support Ukraine with weapons and finances.
"We have prepared ourselves for the fact that this war will affect the whole world, of course, including Europe and our country", - Scholz said.
As reported, Scholz accused russia of lying because of the Nord Stream turbine.
