Since August 1, Ukrposhta has stopped serving customers in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine due to the threat to the lives of employees and the likelihood of robberies by russian invaders. This was announced in Telegram by General Director of JSC Ukrposhta Ihor Smiliansky.

"Until yesterday, despite all the obstacles and thanks to the heroic work of our employees, in particular, in Zaporizhzhia, and before that, in Kherson, we paid hundreds of thousands of pensions, accepted and transferred payments for utilities and also delivered food", - Smiliansky writes.

According to the director general, the russians threaten the lives of Ukrposhta employees, and can also engage in extortion.

"We have a significant threat to the lives of workers and the threat of robbery from the "gathering of thieves and a gang of poor "fighters of the russian army, reinforced by the "best" fighters of the so-called LNR/DNR. They do not allow us to deliver pensions, because they need to collect passport numbers from the referendum pensioners "in exchange for pensions in "wooden currency" with their usual blackmail", - the message says.

Smiliansky also noted that Ukrposhta would definitely return to all Ukrainian cities.

"We will return, I know this for sure. Same as we returned to the Kyiv region, Chernihiv region and Sumy region. And we will not just return, but with new branches, as happened today in Trostianets, which received significant damage from the "liberators". Now a new and beautiful branch is opened in the very center of Trostianets. And this one is not the last" - he wrote.

As previously reported, more than 850 IDPs from Popasna received humanitarian aid through Ukrposhta.
