The Verkhovna Rada has generally approved a law prohibiting the forced collection of debts for certain categories of citizens for housing and communal services during martial law. This was reported on July 27 by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak in his Telegram channel.

"The Rada banned the enforcement of decisions on the recovery of debts from an individual for housing and communal services for the period of martial law", - Zhelezniak wrote. - The law was adopted as a whole - 312 (I did not vote)".

He clarified that the norm applies to services in territorial communities located in areas of military (combat) operations or in areas that are or were located in temporary occupation, encirclement (blockade), in accordance with the list approved by the order of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, or if the collection for housing and communal services is carried out on real estate, which is the place of permanent residence of such an individual and was destroyed or damaged as a result of military (combat) actions.

It was earlier reported with reference to Zhelezniak that the Verkhovna Rada appointed Andriy Kostin as Prosecutor General.
