Russia wants to destroy Sloviansk and capture Kharkiv - Zelensky

The russian occupiers want to destroy Sloviansk and are planning another attack on Kharkiv. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at the opening of the Global Policy Forum of the Institute for International Policy Studies on June 20.

"Now the russian army is trying to gather forces to attack Kharkiv again. We de-occupied this region. But they want again, and we see it. They want to capture and completely destroy Sloviansk", - Zelensky stated.

According to him, the Ukrainian military protect the civilian population, but they need modern weapons to completely stop the occupiers. Now such deliveries are literally a matter of lives.

"That's why I spend so much emotion, so much time and effort to convince all of our partners to give us powerful weapons", - the president added.

Earlier, the head of the Lithuanian MFA noted that the supply of Western weapons would also help Ukraine protect and open ports faster.
