Next week, russia should be expected to increase hostile activity in connection with the decision of the European Union regarding the candidate status for Ukraine. This was announced on June 19 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address.

"Tomorrow begins a truly historic week. The week when we will hear a response from the European Union about the status of the candidacy for Ukraine. There is already a positive decision of the European Commission, and at the end of the new week, there will be a response from the European Council. I think it is obvious to everyone that since 1991, there has been few such fateful decisions for Ukraine as we expect now. And I am sure that only a positive decision is in the interests of the whole of Europe. It is obvious that we should expect an increase in hostile activity from russia. Specially – indicative. This week. Not only against Ukraine, but also against other European countries. We are getting ready. We are ready. We are warning our partners", - the head of state noted.

As previously reported, the European Commission recommended granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership on June 17.
