Russian president vladimir putin signed a law on June 11, according to which the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which were issued after March 15 this year, are not enforceable in russia, - BBC News Russian Service reports on its Telegram channel.

"The document was adopted by the Duma and approved by the Federation Council last week", - the report says.

It is clarified that the document, approved by putin on June 11, also suggests that until January 1, 2023, the russian Prosecutor General's Office can pay monetary compensation to applicants under the ECHR judgments issued before March 15, 2022. However, payments will be made only in rubles and only to russian bank accounts.

Let us recall that on March 15, the russian federation withdrew from the Council of Europe, which was a response to the decision of the EU Council of Ministers to deprive russia of the right for representation in the Parliamentary Assembly because of the attack on Ukraine.

As reported on March 6, the ECHR ruled in favor of Ukraine on all future complaints against russia.

It was also reported that on June 6, head of the State Duma of the russian federation Vyacheslav Volodin announced the adoption of amendments on non-compliance with the decisions of the ECHR.
