The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has completed an investigation into the treason proceedings against Viktor Medvedchuk, - the press service of the SBI reports on June 2.

"Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings on suspicion of People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Opposition Platform - FOR LIVE political party Viktor Medvedchuk of committing criminal offenses under Article 111 (High treason) and Article 438 (Violation of laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine", - the message says. Let us recall that Viktor Medvedchuk is accused of being, together with another People's Deputy of Ukraine from the political party Opposition Platform - FOR LIFE (wanted), officials of the russian federation and other figures attempted to plunder national values ​​- illegal oil and gas production on the Black Sea shelf in the region of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which, in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, are the property of the Ukrainian people.

In addition, according to the investigation, the People's Deputy of Ukraine provided the russian leadership with assistance in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine. "He collected information about the places of deployment of Ukrainian military formations, conducting combat training events and assisted in attracting Ukrainian citizens to the implementation of measures to the detriment of the state in order to destabilize the socio-political situation", - the SBI noted.

The accused faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to fifteen years with or without confiscation of property.
