"DNR/LNR" authorities keep number of dead militants off radar, but count goes to thousands - BBC

More than 1200 "DNR" fighters have died since the start of russian aggression in Ukraine. Such data obtained from open sources are given in the BBC investigation.

It is noted that the puppet authorities of the "republic" do not give "official" data. However, based on the analysis of publications about the dead members of the "People's Militia" in social networks, we can talk about 1205 servicemen of the various "DNR" units, who died after February 24.

The "People's Militia of the LNR" also does not report anything on the losses in its ranks.

In the publications of the authorities of Luhansk about the posthumous awarding of the military, the BBC found 39 names. As of May 29, social media posts mention at least 41 more dead militants from the Luhansk region.

The media outlet notes that the real losses of the military personnel of the "people's militia" of the "DNR/LNR" clearly exceed these figures.

In particular, you can find in social networks at least 2402 posts of people who are looking for their male relatives, who ended up in the ranks of the Donetsk and Luhansk militants and have not been in contact for a long time. There has been no news from some of the mobilized for more than two months. Probably, many of them died.
