Provincial russian media are afraid to clarify why exactly activists who oppose the russian invasion of Ukraine are put on trial and sentenced to heavy fines. This is evidenced by the analysis of publications of the Transbaikalian press.
In particular, the Baikal-Daily media outlet told that "a resident of Buryatia was fined $550 for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation".
According to the journalist, "the pensioner came to the Soviet Square with a poster on which three words were written". Baikal-Daily did not voice with what words, forbidden in russia, the resident of the capital of Buryatia offended the russian army. Most likely, the poster called for an end to the war in Ukraine.
As previously reported, a parallel information "reality" has been created in Russia – any information about russian aggression in Ukraine that does not coincide with official reports is recognized as unreliable, and administrative and criminal liability is provided for its dissemination.
