More than 10 thousand people may die from diseases and unbearable conditions in Mariupol destroyed by the occupiers. This is said in the message of the Mariupol City Council.
It notes that "more than 10 thousand people may die from diseases and unbearable conditions in Mariupol by the end of the year. Now 150-170 thousand residents are staying in the city".
"The occupiers have turned Mariupol into a medieval ghetto. So the death rate will be appropriate. Without medicine and medical care, restoration of water supply and proper sewerage, the epidemics will spread in the city", - mayor of the Ukrainian city Vadym Boychenko states.
According to him, most of the present population are old and sick people. Without proper conditions, mortality among vulnerable categories will increase significantly.
Based on this, the mayor insists on the urgent evacuation of the city.
