Russian occupiers are going to completely block the movement of civilians at the checkpoints of Kherson until May 11. Mayor Ihor Kolykhaiev said this on the air of the All-Ukrainian Information Telethon, - UNIAN reports.

"The situation is tense. Now they are not letting anyone out… Almost 47 checkpoints to Boryslav in the direction of the exit to Kryvyi Rih, and people cannot leave. They say at the checkpoints that they will not let people in or out until May 11", - Kolykhaiev reported.

The mayor of Kherson added that about 200 thousand people remain in the city today, up to 40% of the residents were able to leave by cars in dangerous conditions, uniting in groups.

"For 64 days of the war, we did not have a single safe green corridor, so that we could take people out… This is a very big problem for our city, but we hope that there will be green corridors, because there are many people who want to leave our city, but are afraid for their lives", - Ihor Kolykhaiev noted.

He also added that so far, there are no big preparations of the occupiers for the celebration of May 9 in Kherson.
