Militants in occupied Donetsk are getting ready to receive planes from Russia –they are repairing a runway strip

Militants of the self-proclaimed "DPR" began to repair the runway strip of the destroyed Donetsk airport. A source in Donetsk informs OstroV about that.

According to him, the repairing was carried out in late March - early April and now a runway can receive transport planes.

OstroV’s interlocutor revealed that residents of Donetsk heard the sound of flying heavy aircraft at Monday night and on Monday morning saw condensation trails, presumably left in the sky by covering aircraft.

The city rumors persist that the military transport aircraft of the Russian aerospace forces repeatedly landed repaired runway of the airport.

Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed the repair work on the runway of the Donetsk airport but didn’t confirm that it has already received Russian planes.

"We confirm the information on the reconstruction of the runway of the Donetsk airport performed by militants at different levels. At the same time, we have no information about that Russian aircraft landing there," – said the MID.
