The number of cases of early release of convicts has significantly increased in the "penitentiary facilities of the DNR" in the Russian-occupied part of the territory of the Donetsk oblast since the beginning of 2022. This was reported by the "Freethinker" Telegram channel with reference to the employees of the so-called closed institutions of the "DNR".
"It turns out that everything is very simple if the recommendations are given by the Russian military "curator". Due to the fact that there is a significant shortage in the ranks of the militants of the 1st Army Corps and there was a significant outflow of personnel at the end of 2021 and at the beginning of 2022, the Russian curators suggested a way out to the occupation authorities. One of the conditions for early release from places of punishment is the obligatory passage of reservist training with the subsequent signing of a contract for service in the 1 AC! ", - the message says.
At the same time, as noted by the locals, preference is given to those convicts who have already fought and committed crimes. They are released on a first-priority basis, as they have combat experience.
