In case of further rapprochement between Ukraine and NATO, Russia threatens with "large-scale conflict in Europe"

The Russian leadership predicts the possibility of a large-scale conflict in Europe, if Ukraine moves towards NATO. These threats were made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with the Oslobodzhene Bosnian-Herzegovinian newspaper, - Russian media report.

"We believe that, first of all, it is necessary to defuse confrontation caused by the way American colleagues "take care" of their Ukrainian protégés. The course of drawing Kyiv into NATO with the prospect of the appearance of attack missile systems near our borders creates unacceptable threats to the security of Russia, provoking serious military risks for all parties involved, up to a large-scale conflict in Europe", - the head of the Russian MFA stated.
