Bellingcat investigative journalist Christo Grozev has stated that in the summer of 2014, members of the armed formations in the Donbas allegedly brought in not one, but several Buk self-propelled anti-aircraft missile systems shortly before the crash of the Boeing 777 plane flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on flight MH17. Grozev reported this in a stream of Nova Gazeta.

"In total, it has been proven that three Buks were imported (to the "DNR" and "LNR")… At first, two Buks crossed the border – over three or four days (before the tragedy). The Buk that was supposed to go to Girkin in the "DNR" burned down on the way, it was very old. Everything burned out. But there was one more which got there", - Grozev told.

A Malaysian Airlines Boeing passenger plane flying MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in the Donetsk oblast of Ukraine on July 17, 2014. As a result of the tragedy, all 298 people on board died - citizens of ten countries.
