They now intend to import coal to the occupied territory of the Donetsk oblast, where most of the mines have been closed since 2014. This was stated by leader of the "DNR" Denis Pushilin on November 11.
According to him, there is not enough coal for both operating enterprises and household consumers
"In spite of everything, we have observed a systematic increase in coal production. There was no such need a year ago - we had a problem where to sell our coal. Now we have large enterprises started working. We need to cover their demands as soon as possible. It is necessary that our thermal power plants be provided with coal. And household coal be delivered to people", - Pushilin said, having added that "we will even have to import the coking coal grades from the outside".
According to him, more than 5 million tons of coal was mined in CADO in 2021.
The residents of CADO comment on Pushilin's words in social networks: "How's that? Coal is everywhere in the Donbas. Guys, please, explain, I don't quite understand something"; "Small illegal coalmines are private, there is no coal for the people".
