Utility rates: Shmyhal tells whether there will be increase in this heating season

The Cabinet of Ministers is not going to raise rates for electricity, heat and hot water this heating season. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in the Verkhovna Rada today during the hour of questions to the government, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"We do not plan that the rates for heat and hot water will change in this heating season in comparison with the last heating season. We are not going to raise the rates… The electricity rate is fixed. The price for gas is formed on the market - Naftogaz has proposed an annual rate of UAH 7.96. Gas price is fixed and will not exceed UAH 8", - he stated.

At the same time, he noted that it was the local government that was responsible for the formation of rates for heat and hot water.

"The government is ready to give a hand to make it easier for local governments to pass this heating season in terms of not placing extra burden on the shoulders of people", - Denys Shmyhal said.
