The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a resolution to appeal to the international community in connection with the illegal preparation of election to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the occupied Crimea and involving the citizens of Ukraine from the occupied part of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts to vote, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

318 People's Deputies supported the decision.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to the Security Council and the UN General Assembly, OSCE, European Union, NATO, other international organizations, parliamentary assemblies, foreign parliaments and governments and called on:

1. To apply all necessary means to warn the authorities and occupation administration of the Russian Federation against holding election to the State Duma in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and make it impossible for citizens of Ukraine living in the occupied part of Donbas to participate in the election.

2. Not to recognize the legitimacy of the election to the State Duma of the Russian Federation on September 19, 2021 and its further decisions when voting in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine.

3. To apply sanctions against representatives of the authorities and occupation administration of the Russian Federation, who attract citizens of Ukraine in the occupied territories to the election to the State Duma and thereby violate the sovereignty of Ukraine.
