An elderly resident of the Ocheretynska community in the Donetsk region died as a result of shelling by the occupiers on August 11. This was reported by head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko on his Facebook.

"Tragic news from the village of Novoselivka Druha of the Ocheretynska community: an elderly man, a local resident born in 1935, was killed as a result of hostile shelling", - Pavlo Kyrylenko wrote.

As the JFO headquarters noted, the occupiers fired from artillery systems of 122-mm caliber prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

"The shelling damaged several detached houses of local residents. Explosions damaged the nearby households. A local resident born in 1935 was killed as a result of the shelling. This was reported to the OSCE SMM. Criminal proceedings have been initiated on this fact", - the headquarters noted.

It was also emphasized there that the systematic shelling of peaceful settlements from prohibited weapons indicates a clear interest of the leaders of occupation administration of the Russian Federation in further escalation of the conflict and a conscious unwillingness to comply with the Minsk agreements on the ceasefire, and is also a violation of international humanitarian law, which poses a direct threat to the life and health of the civilian population, as well as significant property damage to local residents.
