Five people suffer burns as a result of emergency at a metallurgical plant in Mariupol (VIDEO)

Five workers of the Ilyich Mariupol Iron and Steel Works have suffered thermal burns as a result of an emergency on August 9. This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

It was established that hot dust was emitted from the sinter machine during the repair of equipment at the sinter plant of the Ilyich Mariupol Iron and Steel Works private joint-stock company at 17:05.

The deputy head of one of the shops, the chief foreman and foreman, as well as two electricians, who were nearby at that time, suffered thermal burns of varying severity.

The victims aged 34 to 48 were taken to the burn unit of the city hospital.

Criminal proceedings have been started on the fact of violation of safety rules during the performance of work with increased danger, which entailed grave consequences (part 2 of article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigative actions to establish all the circumstances and witnesses of the incident are being carried out.
